Has India Found Its New Pacer in The Form of Mayank Yadav?

In the ongoing IPL 2024, Lucknow Super Giants were hosting Punjab and things were going great for Punjab. They were 88 for none in nine overs, chasing 200. Lucknow Super Giants were in a tight spot during the match. Suddenly, a rookie bowler named Mayank Yadav steps up. Nobody knows him, but let me tell you, this guy throws fire!

We’re talking about bowling speeds over 150 kmph, which is kinda rare these days in Indian cricket. His fastest delivery clocked a crazy 155.8 kmph – the fastest of this IPL season! Needless to say, the batters were clueless against his pace.

Yadav completely changed the game, helped Lucknow win by a mile, and even became the player of the match! Talk about a debut to remember!

But who is this mystery speedster?

Mayank comes from a regular family in Delhi. Speed has always been his thing, on and off the field. Despite his talent, he faced some setbacks early on. But this guy wouldn’t give up!

I love speed and always did, not just in cricket but in general life too. Be it a plane, rocket or superbikes. Speed excites me,” Yadav said after his debut

Finally, in 2022, he got his chance to play for Delhi’s senior team. There, his raw pace caught the eye of some bigwigs at the Lucknow Super Giants. They knew he had potential, but he needed some polishing. They bought him at the IPL auction, but an injury kept him out that season.

Mayank didn’t let that stop him. He focused on getting healthy and even better under Lucknow’s guidance. When he came back, he was on fire in domestic tournaments, taking wickets left and right with his scorching pace. Lucknow knew it was time to unleash their secret weapon. Even though he hadn’t played at the highest level before, Mayank totally owned his debut and made a huge impact.

Since then, everyone’s been talking about this young speed machine. Cricket legends are even impressed! Brett Lee, a former Aussie fast bowler, called him “India’s fastest bowler,” and another legend, Dale Steyn, couldn’t believe his eyes.

Dale Steyn said “155.8 KPH! Mayank Yadav where have you been hiding!” as he wrote on his X account.

Mayank Yadav’s story is one of passion and hard work. From a young speed enthusiast to a cricketer turning heads on the big stage, his journey has just begun. The cricket world is waiting with bated breath to see what this exciting new talent can achieve next!
