KL Rahul continues his impressive run in IPL 2024! Playing against Mumbai Indians, he became the first wicketkeeper to score a whopping 400 runs this season.
While chasing a moderate target set by Mumbai, Rahul started cautiously but quickly overtook fellow wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant in the most runs scored list. This achievement marks a milestone for Rahul, solidifying his position as a top batsman in the tournament.
Although he got out later in the innings for 28 runs, his early knock helped Lucknow Super Giants build a strong foundation. Interestingly, a brilliant catch by Mohammed Nabi ended Rahul’s innings, but not before he laid the groundwork for his team’s chase.
Compared to other wicketkeepers in the league, Rahul stands tall. Rishabh Pant follows closely with 398 runs, while Sanju Samson and Jos Buttler trail behind with 385 and 319 runs respectively.
This season, Rahul seems to have rediscovered his old form. He’s batting more aggressively, taking on bowlers with confidence. He’s already smashed three half-centuries, with his highest score being a brilliant 82 against Chennai Super Kings.
Currently sitting at number 4 in the race for the Orange Cap, Rahul has a good chance of climbing even higher. The top two batsmen, Sai Sudarshan and Ruturaj Gaikwad are only around 40 runs ahead.
With his consistent performance and aggressive batting, KL Rahul is proving to be a crucial player for Lucknow Super Giants and a force to be reckoned with in IPL 2024.
