SRH Record Fastest 150+ Chase in IPL History

The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) team has etched their name in cricket history with a truly remarkable feat in the 2024 IPL. They chased down a target of 166 runs set by the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in an unbelievably quick time – just 9.4 overs!

Fastest chases of 150+ run targets (in terms of balls left) in IPL:

SRH vs LSG – 155/0 in 9.4 overs (Hyderabad)

D Chargers vs MI – 167/0 in 12 overs (Navi Mumbai)

RR vs KKR – 151/1 in 13.1 overs (Kolkata)

RCB vs GT – 152/6 in 13.4 overs (Bengaluru)

MI vs CSK – 158/1 13.5 overs (Mumbai)

This record-breaking chase wasn’t just about winning the match; it was about rewriting the record books. Here’s what makes this victory so special:

Fastest 150+ Chase in T20 History:  This chase is the fastest in the entire world, not just the IPL!  No team, anywhere, has ever chased down a target of 150+ runs in fewer overs than SRH. This achievement goes beyond the IPL and cements their place in T20 cricket history.

First Team to Chase 150+ in Under 10 Overs: This chase is a first in the history of T20 cricket.  No team has ever reached the 150-run mark and crossed the finish line faster than SRH. This speaks volumes about their aggressive batting and incredible form.

World Record 100+ Runs in Powerplay (Twice):  The opening partnership between Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma was simply explosive! They put up a staggering 107 runs in the powerplay (first 6 overs). Interestingly, this isn’t the first time they’ve achieved this feat.  Earlier in the season, they scored a record-breaking 125 runs in the powerplay against Delhi Capitals (DC).  This makes them the first pair in T20 history to score two 100+ run-opening partnerships in the powerplay of different innings.

Most Runs in First 10 Overs (IPL):  SRH rewrote the IPL record for most runs scored in the first 10 overs of a match.  Their incredible total of 167 for no loss stands as a testament to their dominating batting display.

The credit for this historic win goes to the entire SRH team, especially the opening duo of Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma. Their aggressive batting left the LSG bowlers with no chance, showcasing their exceptional form and skill.  This victory not only boosts their position in the IPL playoffs race but also leaves a lasting impression on the world of T20 cricket.  Congratulations to SRH for writing their names in the history books!
