Team India’s Schedule till IPL 2025

The cricketing world holds its breath as Team India prepares to battle it out in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024, held across the United States and the West Indies. But the celebrations won’t last long! Gear up for a whirlwind tour as we explore India’s jam-packed cricketing calendar leading up to the next IPL in 2025.

The T20 World Cup is about to kick off, but India’s cricketing journey extends far beyond the coveted trophy. Here’s a detailed look at their upcoming battles:

T20 World Cup 2024 (Starts June 1st): The wait is almost over! Can Team India, under the leadership of Rohit Sharma, bring home the coveted T20 World Cup title? The group stage promises exciting clashes against Ireland, Pakistan, USA, and Canada, while the knockout stages could see them face off against other cricketing giants.

Zimbabwe Tour (July 6th-14th): Fresh off the World Cup experience, India heads straight to Zimbabwe for a five-match T20 series. This tour could be a strategic opportunity. With the grueling World Cup behind them, senior players might be rested, allowing younger talents like Riyan Parag and Abhishek Sharma to showcase their skills on the international stage.

Sri Lanka Tour (Dates TBA): Next stop, Sri Lanka! Here, India will play a three-match ODI series and a three-match T20I series. The exact dates are yet to be confirmed, but fans can expect a return of experienced players looking to solidify their positions in the national team.

Bangladesh in India (Dates TBA): The action shifts back home as India welcomes Bangladesh for a crucial two-match Test series, counting towards the World Test Championship. This will be India’s first Test series after the IPL, and a chance to strengthen their position in the points table. The tour also includes a three-match T20I series, offering a chance to experiment with different combinations and strategies.

New Zealand in India (Dates TBA): Another feather in the cap – a three-match Test series against New Zealand on home soil. This Test series is also part of the World Test Championship, and a chance for India to solidify their dominance at the top of the table.

Border Gavaskar Trophy in Australia (November 2nd – January 3rd):  The prestigious Border Gavaskar Trophy beckons! A five-match Test series in Australia will be the ultimate test of India’s resilience. Can they conquer the famed Aussie pitches and claim victory Down Under for a historic third consecutive time?

England in India (Dates TBA):  Back on home turf, India will host England for a five-match T20 series and a three-match ODI series. This promises to be a high-voltage encounter, with both teams boasting of explosive batting lineups and potent bowling attacks.

ICC Champions Trophy 2025 (February-March, Participation Uncertain): The final piece of the puzzle is the ICC Champions Trophy in 2025. However, India’s participation is shrouded in uncertainty due to the tournament being hosted by Pakistan. A hybrid model with matches played at multiple locations might pave the way for India’s inclusion. Otherwise, they may not be able to compete.
