ACC T20 Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2024 Schedule

The ACC T20 Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2024 is set to take place from October 18 to 27 in Oman. This tournament, a showcase of young talent from across Asia, will be played in the T20 format for the first time, adding a new twist to the competition. The Emerging Teams Asia Cup, traditionally held in the ODI format, has been a battleground for the junior or ‘A’ teams of various cricketing nations in the region. This year, the shorter, more fast-paced T20 format promises even more excitement and intense action.

A total of eight teams will participate in this year’s edition, split into two groups. Group A consists of Afghanistan A, Bangladesh A, Hong Kong, and Sri Lanka A, while defending champions Pakistan Shaheens have been placed in Group B alongside India A, hosts Oman, and the UAE. All matches will take place at the Oman Cricket Academy Ground in Muscat, making this venue the heart of the tournament.

One of the most anticipated fixtures of the tournament is the face-off between traditional rivals, India A and Pakistan Shaheens, on October 19. This match, scheduled as the fourth game of the tournament, promises to bring the same intensity and rivalry as seen in senior-level encounters between the two cricketing giants. It is expected to be one of the key highlights of the group stages and will attract the attention of fans from both countries and beyond.

The tournament’s structure is simple: the top two teams from each group will progress to the semifinals, set for October 25. The winners of the semifinals will then meet in the final on October 27, where the champion will be crowned.

The full group-stage schedule kicks off with Bangladesh A facing Hong Kong and Sri Lanka A taking on Afghanistan A on October 18. The India-Pakistan clash on October 19 will be followed by Oman’s opening game against the UAE on the same day. India A will go on to play Oman and the UAE on October 21 and 23, respectively, rounding off their group-stage matches.
