1: Brendon McCullum (123 runs, 2012)

The gold medal for the highest individual score goes to the former New Zealand captain, Brendon McCullum.  During the 2012 World Cup match against Bangladesh, McCullum rewrote history by scoring the fastest ever century in the T20 World Cup.  His mind-blowing innings saw him score 123 runs in a mere 58 balls. 2: Chris Gayle (117 runs, 2007)

Coming in at number two is the legendary Chris Gayle, also known as the “Universe Boss.”  Back in 2007, during the inaugural T20 World Cup, Gayle took on the South African bowling attack with pure dominance.  He smashed a belligerent 117 runs off just 57 balls. This knock was packed with brute force, featuring 7 boundaries and a staggering 10 sixes.  His strike rate of 205.26 signifies the sheer destruction he unleashed on the opposition, leaving them breathless.

 

3: Alex Hales (116 runs, 2014)

English opener Alex Hales takes the bronze medal in this power-hitting contest. During the 2014 World Cup match against Sri Lanka, Hales unleashed a whirlwind knock of 116 runs in just 64 balls. His innings was a balanced display of power and precision, with 11 boundaries (fours) and 6 towering sixes.  He scored at a mind-boggling strike rate of 181.25, meaning he averaged more than a run a ball, putting immense pressure on the Sri Lankan bowlers.
