Chasing a target of just 169, this dominant partnership set the tone for a comfortable 10-wicket victory for England.
While skipper Buttler played a responsible knock of 80 runs off 49 balls, Hales went all guns blazing, scoring a quickfire 86 off just 47 deliveries. Their aggressive batting left the Indian bowlers with no answers.
Quinton de Kock & Rilee Rossouw
The second-highest partnership in T20 World Cup history also belongs to a team from the 2022 edition – South Africa. Quinton de Kock and Rilee Rossouw combined for a spectacular 168-run stand against Bangladesh in a Super 12 match.
The left-right batting combination displayed superb attacking intent, helping South Africa post a formidable total of 205 runs for 5 wickets. De Kock played a rapid knock of 63 runs off just 38 balls, while Rossouw stole the show with a breathtaking century (109 runs) off 56 deliveries. Their innings were laced with boundaries, with De Kock hitting 7 fours and 3 sixes, and Rossouw clearing the ropes a staggering 8 times along with 7 fours. Eoin Morgan and Alex Hales
The third-highest T20 World Cup partnership comes from the 2014 edition. England’s Eoin Morgan and Alex Hales (yes, the same Hales who features in the top partnership as well!) stitched together a 152-run stand against Bangladesh.
