Jasprit Bumrah Becomes the First Bowler in History to Become Number 1 In All Formats

India’s pacer Jasprit Bumrah became the 1st Indian pacer to top all three formats, claiming the no. 1 spot on the ICC Men’s Test Bowler rankings. The ICC, in a statement released, said that Jasprit Bumrah has claimed the throne for the first time, with match figures of 9/91 when India equaled the Test series against England in the 2nd Test in Vizag.

Bumrah was named Player of the Match after taking nine wickets in the second Test match, moving up three spots in the ICC Test bowlers’ rankings. Meanwhile, South Africa’s Kasigo Rabada continues to stay second in the rankings.

Surprisingly, Bumrah has never ranked higher than third in a Test match, despite taking 10 five-wicket hauls in 34 games. He took two 5-wicket hauls in the Test in 2004.

Earlier the India pacer beat South Africa with 6/61, and now 6/45 against England.

With Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, and Bishan Bedi, Jasprit Bumrah is just the fourth player from India – and first fast bowler – to top the bowling charts.
