Sarfaraz Khan and Dhruv Jurel, two rising cricket talents from India, have earned themselves significant recognition. They have been included in Group C of the BCCI’s central contract, which comes with a yearly fee of Rs 1 crore. This decision was made official during a recent meeting of the BCCI Apex Council.
Sarfaraz Khan, known for his powerful batting, showcased his skills against England. Sarfaraz registered three quick fifties in five Test innings against England. Dhruv Jurel, the team’s wicket-keeper, played a crucial role in India’s victory in the fourth Test against England. His notable innings of 90 runs helped India secure a win despite a challenging situation in the Rajkot match. Jurel’s performance drew comparisons to the legendary MS Dhoni and also earned him the Player of the Match award.
The decision to include Sarfaraz and Jurel in the central contract list was based on a criterion set by the BCCI. Players needed to participate in at least three Test matches in the ongoing season to qualify. Both Sarfaraz and Jurel met this requirement by making appearances in the recent Test series against England, thereby securing their spot in the central contract.
